Chris Kirk takes first-round lead at Utah Championship
SANDY, Utah -- Chris Kirk, sparked by a hole-in-one, shot a 6-under 65 Thursday to take the first-round lead at the Utah Championship. Kirk, who took last week off after winning the Knoxville News Sentinel Open, picked up right where he left off and grabbed one-shot advantage over Michael Putnam, Cliff Kresge and Fabian Gomez.

LEMONT, Ill. -- A year ago, on the last hole that Ian Poulter played in the final round of the BMW Championship at Cog Hill, he hit his approach shot into the water guarding the 18th green. That unfortunately timed gaffe prevented Poulter, by the slimmest of margins, of advancing to THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola for the first time in his career.
Colsearts shoots 62 for lead after first round of Dutch Open
HILVERSUM, Netherlands (AP) -- Nicolas Colsearts of Belgium shot an 8-under 62 to upstage a trio of European Ryder Cup players and take the first-round lead at the Dutch Open.
